Hey everyone, I'm applying to several DO schools and wondering if my letters of recommendation (LORs) should be school specific. Do you think it stands out to the admissions committees if letters are tailored to their school or at least addressed to them specifically?

I'm debating whether it's worth asking my letter writers to submit 2, 3, or.....well, 12 different letters with the same text but headings changed to address each school.

What do you think?

Thanks in advance! 🙂

No, I wouldn't do this. Adcoms expect you to be applying to many schools. Addressing each school individually might look a little cheesy. Others may disagree.

And your LOR writer will look at you and say, "12 different letters? Imma have to choke a b!tch." and that would bad.

I would not have specific letters. As others have mentioned the adcoms expect you to apply to multiple schools.

Many secondary applications have an essay question that states why you would like to go to a specific school. Additionally, the interview will provided a platform for you to express your desire to go to that specific school.
