Should you still interview even if you've already been accepted else where??

I was finally invited to interview at Stanford about a month ago but with their i-net scheduling I couldn't get an interview date until the end of March. Yesturday I got my acceptance letter to Harvard & so I am wondering if I should still at least check it out. I mean I would really love to get out of this Minnesota winter for a few days & I might love it there.

Any opinions?

Hey,

One of my tour guides at the Stanford interview actually got accepted at Harvard, but she ultimately choose Stanford. She said she liked the flexible curriculum and the weather in California...so if thats important for you give it a shot. Incidentally her and the other tour guide were harvard undergrads..go figure

I say go for it. especially if your unsure about Harvard. I'd question why you would be since its only the top school in the country but...ultimately you have to be able to picture yourself being there for the next four years. So take curriculum, peers, family, accomodations, weather, etc. into consideration.

Hey, congrats. If you know you would go to Harvard over Stanford, I wouldn't waste anyone else's time (including your own). Otherwise, go for it. I hear Stanford's campus is really beautiful.

Congratulations! We might be future classmates (I got accepted to the New Pathway program).

As for your Stanford interview:

If you have the time and the money, I say to go. I'm all about gathering as much info as you can to help to help make/solidify a decision.

The visit may reinforce/qualify/negate aspects of medical school that you thought were important to you; Stanford, in particular, seems to have research and abroad programs not quite like any other medical school I've seen -- it may be useful to get that perspective.

If time and money are in short supply and you feel like you already have a very good sense of why you want to go to a particular school, then, short of escaping the winter for a few days, you should probably cancel the interview.

There are better ways to escape Minnesota than going to an interview. Try visiting SF or so cal for a vacation. Stop by Palo Alto for a sneak peak. The Stanford interview day has the potential to be extremely long and tiring. If you have the bling bling and the doubt about Harvard then give it a shot.

I would say definitely go visit Stanford. I was amazed by the school on my interview day, and I didn't find the day tiring at all. If I remember correctly, it begins at 9 am, and I think I was finished by 3:30

Thanks for the input you guys.
One of the biggest things holding me back is the fact that I may not even get into Stanford as more than half of there class is already full. So the whole trip out may be in vain.
I figured I'd let the fates decide - if I can get cheap tickets I will still go out but if not Harvard all the way.
