I have a GPA of a 3.4 and a science GPA of 3.6.

On DAT

QR: 16
RC: 17
BIO: 18
O Chem: 19
G Chem: 19
PAT: 21
TS: 19
AA: 18

Should I take the test again.

Most people on here are going to say yes because we are all over-achievers and what not...

But truth is, as long as you apply early, and have good ECs, LOR, and personal statement, you shouldn't need to.

I'd re-take it if if I were you and had extra time (i.e. if I were applying for the next cycle).

Get it up to ADEA average for most schools (~20?) for extra security! 😀

NO YOU HAVE AN RC of 17 and AA of 18 which is low. DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS GUY. DO RETAKE. RC OF 17 will hurt you very badly and you will be right of the bat for SOME SCHOOLS... EVEN IF YOU APPLY EARLY the odds of getting interviews will be low. even if you have stellar gpa etc...

You have time to study and prepare, DO RETAKE.

I think you'll be fine.. MOST schools don't care about the Math section..
and i totally agree w/ pk7

NOT TURE AGAIN, OF COURSE schools care about your math section. If its below 15 or 14 then you will be in trouble.

I would retake not just because of the 17 in RC but your scores are generally weak. You are allowed to have 1 or 2 sections low (under 18) but you should get a high AA 20 or higher to make up for that.

As for how much a 17 in RC hurts you can call schools and find out, do not just base your decision off us predents on SDN.

Good luck

I think if you had a 19 AA you would be ok. Many schools do not care much for the math score. I am not saying that the math is not important because if you do good on it it will effect your overall but if your overall is a 19 and above you should be good. Sure people with 18s get in but If you have the time and you think you can do better then a retake is a must, but if you know deep inside that man I am glad I made 18 and I do not think I could have done any better then take your chances and apply early next year. As for the reading comp it is a very important score, but you mad a 17 which is the cut off for most schools so would not worry about that.

If your overall GPA was >3.6 I would have said man you are set and good to go with an 18.

I hope I did not confuse you even more but do not listen to us, call the schools you are interested in tell them your stats and only they can give you the right answer

honestly man... you have good GPA, as far as DAT goes, I don't think you have much of a risk of going lower than 18AA, so, toss a coin, heads = retake ... tails = don't retake
