I've started boxing this year for a Law vs. Med toughman contest and plan to continue to fight in amateur bouts. It's possible I could get shellshocked in the ring and am wondering if interviewing with a face that looked like a well-marbled T-bone would be the "kiss of death?"

I had to give up extreme moto-cross cause standin' in the OR on crutches for 7 hrs is the pits😀 Seriously though, anyone else with extreme hobbies that might conflict with interviews or residency?

I am MS3, so I really have no idea.

But, as a patient would you go to a doctor who was all beat up or would it make you question them?

well, they were just talking about the worst place to do residency, and NJ has some rough parts. show up there and maybe it will work to your advantage.

I'm about to un-retire from contact sports starting tomorrow and have similar doubts. I might not play the week before the programs I care about. Its definitely not going to help our applications if we show up with some shiners.

I would think he/she was BAD A$$...the only thing I would question was what the other guy looked like:scared:
