So there are a large # of programs from which I have not heard from, like 40ish!

Am I supposed to assume that they are rejections or what?!
 
If you haven't heard back yet, I would assume that you are either not being interviewed or are on the waitlist.

I find it very annoying that some programs don't send out notifications, I find it in poor taste and realistically, they should be required to send notices either way. We are paying for this service, and paying quite a bit. I don't know who to send an email to, but this definitely needs to be addressed. Clearly many programs have a ton of applications, and most send out notices, so the excuse that oh we have a lot of applications is preposterous.
