I would just like to know how much schools know about you as an applicant.

Stuff like:

-what jobs you've had, if any
-if you took out student loans
-if you have a house
-if you have a family
-stuff about your personal life, parents names etc
-what high school you went to
-etc

Basically, if its not on your app, can the schools find out, or is that illegal?

What about international applicants? Are they immune too?

I realize most of you guys would not know, but I mean if there is anyone hear who can possibly provide evidence then it would be greatly appreciated. I have posted this on other sub-forums to try to get responses from everyone, so please do chime in.

They don't know my parents names or my loan information......however, i did explain that I have a family and displayed how much work I have done in the eyecare business. I do own a house, but I never mentioned that. I'm sure they have high school information because it was on my college transcript that was sent to optomcas. They only know what you put in the optomcas application.

Going through the process of filling out financial aid and other various forms for the school you will attend, you will see that they have to ask for things like loan amounts, salary, other forms of debt, parents information (if needed), number of dependents, and so on.
If they have to ask about this information, schools must not know it outright.

Jobs is part of the application, and I think high school too. The other stuff like loans, property/assets, parent/family information isn't really relevant to the application process. It's not on the app, and I don't see why they would go through the trouble to try to find out that information (if they even have the ability to) because that stuff shouldn't have any bearing on applicant selection.

For the LOAN process after you get in, sure. But just for applying to the schools, that information serves no purpose.
