Hey ya'll,

Did anyone else hear from Simmons? I received an acceptance in the mail today and originally wasn't considering the program too closely, but I got a nice looking scholarship. Has anyone visited? How do you like it?

Hi! I am in the same boat. I almost forgot to apply to Simmons because they don't participate in PTCAS, got my application in under the wire, and have been accepted. I'm going to try to visit next week. Haven't had any luck finding a recent grad through the practicing PTs I know so I only know what's posted on their website.

Where else are you considering? I have an interview at MGH but haven't heard anything from anywhere else.

YAY! Someone else has heard from Simmons! I want to try to visit too but I'm a couple of hours away and I work full time... I'm hoping that maybe I could get a brief tour on a Saturday, we'll see. I've been accepted to UConn too but it won't be anywhere nearly as cheap as Simmons for me, and I would prefer to be where all the action happens in Boston. URI was originally my number one because it's fairly cheap and I could save money by living at home... As of right now I think Simmons is going to be the winner because I'd be able to go there for half the cost with the scholarship they offered me.

Congrats on getting accepted and good luck at your interview with MGH. If you end up deciding to go to Simmons keep in touch as I would certainly like to network with other Simmons students for a possible housing arrangement!

I was also accepted at Simmons, I am visiting on Friday. I sort of know someone in the program who told me it's really small so you get to know your professors and they care about how you do. They have been really nice with setting up the visit.

Like KristenH I also have an interview at MGH and will most likely go to one of these two programs.

So glad to have found you on here! Congrats to you both. Hockeygoalie, I would love to hear a report after your visit. I'm sure we'll have different impressions and ask different questions so it'd be great to get another opinion. I'm going to try to set up my visit for next week I think. Is your MGH interview this Saturday or next? I'll be there this weekend. Good luck!!

I will also be visiting Simmons on Friday, so I'll most likely see you up there.

I was accepted to Simmons in early January! I've also been sending a few emails back and forth with Lisa Rosmarin, and she set up a time for me to meet with a professor as well as one of the current first years, so hopefully I'll have a little more information to share after this Friday!

My interview is the 31st which is why I set up the Simmons interview this week.

How did you feel about Simmons? Anything in particular that you took away from the visit?

It is a small program, I sat in on a lecture and lab and they both seemed interesting. You should set up a visit, they are very accommodating with visits.

Question regarding the acceptance letter:

"Due to the limited number of available spaces in the entering class, deposits are accepted on a first come, first-served basis in order of receipt. Extensions of enrollment cannot be granted."

Does this suggest that if we send our deposit later but still before the February 16th deadline, that we could run the chance of losing our spot?

I just reread this and sort of panicked...

That's how I had interpreted it, but to be on the safe side I would contact Simmons and double check, or at least check in to see how many spots are left
