Did anyone else receive an email today from Simmons saying that due to administrative errors interviews will not be required this year? It also asked to respond if we were still interested in the program. What do you think of this? In my opinion it helps because people that have already been accepted to other schools can reply "No" and they will be taken out of the running, leaving a smaller applicant pool. Although I think an interview would have helped to explain my rather low GPA 🙁 Also, did many people apply to the program? I don't think I've seen any posts about it from this year!

I received a similar email last Thursday. I'm not really sure what to make of it... It would have been nice to have an interview to see the school and have a chance for them to meet us in person, but I'm not complaining that I don't have to spend more money on traveling!

Just food for thought: what kind of "administrative error" occurs with so much severity that it cancels interviews for an entire program with no explanation? to top it off, all it says is reply if you are still interested. idk about yall, but I would like to know what kind of error occured before i commit to a program bc you just dont know what it could be. accredidation problems?? just thinking out loud...

That is a pretty bizarre scenario. It's hard to think what kind of administrative error could have that profound of an effect on the selection process.

I applied to Simmons and just heard last Tuesday from the program that they would hopefully finalize interview decisions by the end of this week. I'm confused as to why I wasn't told about the no interview situation too. Who sent you guys the email? I agree with the other posts though it does make me nervous that something went wrong to the point where interviews can no longer be held.

I received an email from Vilma Torres saying that interviews will not be required and I received an email today from Danielle Navarro today saying that my application was complete. This is exactly what they said in the email: " Unexpected institutional, administrative delays outside our office have impacted our ability to inform you of your status." I'm confused too because I called a week ago and they said they would be sending out interview invitations at the end of the month. I hope it's not an accreditation issue!

I got the same email from Ms. Torres. It sounds like they were giving everyone different info at different times, which is really confusing... I'd also be interested to hear what the problem was, just to make sure it's nothing wrong with the program itself. Has anyone tried calling to ask? I've already gotten into a few places that I like, but hopefully Simmons get their decisions out soon so we can stop worrying about it.

They are definitely informing people at different times, they called me to tell me about this issue but I didn't ask them what the problem was since I felt like it would be nosy of me to ask. Anyone know when they will make admissions decisions by? I emailed the person who called me to ask but I haven't received a response yet.

I got an acceptance with scholarship by FedEx on Friday.

I also got an acceptance with a scholarship on Saturday. I don't know a whole lot about the program though... Has anyone been for a visit since they cancelled interviews?

I also received my acceptance letter a while back. It was all pretty odd. I turned them down because of my experience with their administration so far.

I have tried several times over the past 6 months to go check out the campus, but either the tour/info session got cancelled, or my request went unanswered. Finally, a PT student I work with offered to give me an unofficial tour, but that was right around when I got the weird "institutional delays" email. I was a little fed up - which is too bad, because I like the PT students I have met from there, and they seem really happy with the school.

Simmons sounded good, but the administrative side of it was off. I'm happy with the school I accepted, anyway.

I'm planning a visit for next weekend; as long as that goes well, I'm 90% sure that's where I'll end up, mostly because of the scholarship. I was hoping to find some others who are planning on Simmons, because I'm going to need some roommates!
