My school has a simulation center which involves human models as well as SPs...are there any particular medical procedures/scenarios I would want to practice as much as possible but for which I would get insufficient practice on the wards?
My school has a simulation center which involves human models as well as SPs...are there any particular medical procedures/scenarios I would want to practice as much as possible but for which I would get insufficient practice on the wards?
ACLS / Codes (generally entirely different in sim center than on wards)
Ultrasound techniques: identifying vein vs artery for central line placement, fluid pockets for paracentesis or thoracentesis.
Endoscopic techniques if you are going into surgery
Laporoscopic games if you are going into surgery
All of these are beneficial in residency, not in your rotations. if you want to get started on these procedures now, you might have a 1% advantage entering residency
