Greeting everyone

This is going to sound like a rather bizarre request, but a lot of years ago I saw a T.V program that they had developed a drug that reversed the ageing process or in a scene made you younger.
They showed an old guy that had taken it and had made him younger, he obviously had money as he had a big house and swimming pool.
A few years ago I heard the same thing being the theme to a quiz programs on BBC 2, it was like a yes or no thing to can a man live to 1000 years.

Is Sirolimus the correct drug hear or not?
Thanks in advance

Yes, this is the right drug. Multiple large-scale randomized controlled trials have shown that sirolimus treatment effectively reduces the age appearance by approximately 10 years. In addition - and this is partially why it is so expensive - it was shown that it actually inhibits the degradation of cells, which means that you essentially WILL live longer. We have yet to actually see how much longer that is, obviously, but it's being followed quite closely.

And not a single pubmed link was seen that day.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/a...g-compound-red-wine-help-humans-live-150.html

Resveratol, naturally found in red wine, stimulates a gene known as SIRT1, which has been linked with extended lifespans in rodents. The new study is the first time similar effects have been replicated in humans.

Probably somatropin. Not a great choice, but it is used.

Are all pharmacists dumb, or just the ones on this forum?...and the ones in real life?

Resveratrol? Sirolimus? What kinda Dr Oz shiz are you peddling?

Don't get me wrong, most other healthcare professionals are pretty dumb, too.

There's no secret to good health: eat vegetables, exercise regularly, don't smoke, don't drink too much alcohol, yada yada yada

Edit: Sorry, I may have had too much tequila tonight.

lol...you know this entire thread is pretty much satire, right?

I'm fluent in sarcasm, but the OP and resvertrol people weren't kidding. Those were the comments that were annoying me. Not unlike that anti-vaxxer that I keep meaning to block.

Oooohhh!!! That's it! Vaccines! They stop the aging process!

Not a doctor at all, in fact I don't even work in the medical or health care profession at all!
This is solely for personal research.
For my own research, yes that's right you guessed it; to become immortal

Then this is the wrong drug as that Daily rag add quotes "'In effect, they would slow ageing."
This quiz show I saw on TV a few years ago (think its still going and can't remember then name) said that this drug would reverse ageing up-untill the point of post puberty.
Dam wish I could remember the name of it now, in-fact it is not a quiz its one of those modern day quiz comedy where they don't actually score proper point like you see on a question of sport, more like a bunch of yuppies showing off and pretending to be clever making up snarky little sarcastic witty comments and everyone lathing at them, like we used to see on Top Gear. In-fact I think it is called "QI" now

We have yet to actually see how much longer that is, obviously, but it's being followed quite closely

Nice observation but do you have anything to back that up with

lets not forget about the red wine should we not

An infomercial for Gorgeouspil?

On a more serious note, this book scientifically and wittily reviews popular anti-aging remedies: "Spring Chicken", by Bill Gifford. Excellent read.

Interesting book
But it looks like it is of no use as it mentions no pharmaceutical drug
