This may be a dumb question but... UWorld said that fats and fat soluble vitamins are mainly absorbed in the jejunum, but does this include vitamin K as well given that E. coli makes it and E. coli is mostly found in the large intestine?
Exogenous vitamin K would be absorbed in the small bowel, transcytosed with consumed fats. 'Endogenous' vitamin K is synthesized and absorbed in the colon via normal flora.
I thought all fat soluble vitamins were absorbed in the ileum? So that would be ADEK (there's your vitamin K) and Vitamin B12. Correct me if I am wrong please.
