I was wondering if anyone could give me any info on SIU MEDPREP program? Does anyone that applied want to share the kinds issues that made them "educationally or economically" disadvantaged??

I am really interested in the program, but I'm not sure if I even qualify to apply.

I am caucasion

I applied for medprep for the cycle 2..... and i have an interview next week.... the reason why i think im disadvantage is beacause im from mississippi and i attend a small hbcu here..... but if u have any other questions please ask i kno enough information concerning the program

thanks DrChuck, I poured over that post a couple of days ago. No one really seems to offer much insight other than interest or know much about the program...

Mstenorsax42 I'm sorry, but I don't know what you mean by that kind of school?

I don't really know that I am educationally disadvantaged but the program was recommended to me by many in regards to my situation...I'm thinking they just didn't really know much about the program

The only way I could be considered disadvanteaged is that I have been sick a lot and had to miss a decent amount of school (especially my freshman year which is when I got the worst grades)

As far as being economically disadvantaged, my family is in a lot of debt, but my parents make more than the cutoff, so I don't think that applies

Any help from anyone else would be really appreciated too

My advice would be to call them and talk about your situation. The least you can do is apply.

Has anyone on the waitlist heard anything. We were supposed to get a final decision around mid May, and I believe the program starts end of June, I have not heard anything. Does anyone know the reason for the delayed decision, or am I just out of the loop😱?
