I decided to bite the bullet and purchase DIT last night, since I'm one of "those students" that apparently can't read FA for themselves and needs someone to spoon-feed information to them. Anyway, my last NBME has me sitting at a 203, which is great for me since I was at a 175 on the school's CBSE at the beginning of May, but I'd like to end up with at least a 220. I'm about 30% through UWorld with 55% doing it on random timed tutor mode. I've also been watching Pathoma and am a little over halfway done with that. I'm still planning on finishing both of these, along with DIT. I also have NBME 13 and 15 at my disposal.

Anyway, I was wondering if I'd really be missing out if I skipped out on the primer videos and part 1 questions and answers. My test is currently scheduled for June 21st and while I can push my test back until the 29th, I'd have to cancel some travel plans. As it stands, I was planning on starting DIT on Saturday and doing the 15 day study plan, since my course materials are supposed to come in tomorrow.

Am I doing myself a big disservice for not doing part 1 and just skipping to part 2? Or is it pretty much all material that they're going to be going over again in the part 2 videos? I'm not shooting for the typical SDN score, but I'd like to feel pretty confident that my score will fall in the 220-230 range going into the test.

Would also like to know the answer to this. I have DIT too, and like OP I decided to skip Part 1 and just do Part 2 in the interest of time. I was under the impression that everything in Part 1 would be covered in more detail in Part 2 anyway, and that Part 1 was pretty much just to give people something to do before they start they're 30 days of Part 2. Anyway, I dont know for sure, so any other info would be appreciated.

I did Part 2 and gave up 1/3 of the way into part one over the spring semester. Didn't hurt my understanding a bit of the part 2 material.

I skipped Part 1 entirely and had no problems with Part 2. Part 2 is entirely self-contained in every way - heck, it barely even necessitates that "Step Up" book they give you. Just the study guide.

Thanks for the replies! I'm about to start DIT Part 2 in a few minutes. Wish me luck!
