A thread like this has been made before, but not in recent years so they weren't updated. I loved both of these schools! They were very similar and I'm sure I'd be happy at either, but they did have some key differences

JEFF
+Curriculum is new but not too new where the kinks haven't been worked out yet
+Topics likes biochem and anatomy are spread out between MS1 and MS2 instead of having them in their own separate blocks
+Much nicer area and would be a shorter commute
+The campus itself is also a lot nicer (on campus housing, has a gym/pool!)
+Easier to get to and from my parents' house
+Has a larger alumni/hospital network that will be a huge help in the future
+perhaps a slightly better program?
+Has the largest student-run clinic in US
-very big school
-got the sense that it was more competitive
-lacking in diversity

TEMPLE
+Much smaller
+Students were really collaborative and supportive of each other
+Seemed to be less competitive
+I went to Temple for undergrad, so I'm very familiar with a lot of the faculty and current students. Everyone there loves it
+Much more diverse
+Don't have to pay for your own scrubs!
-Temple Health is facing some financial problems because of the area they serve
-North Philly is more dangerous than Center City
-Curriculum is going to be brand new the year I would start

Let me know what you guys think!

I personally prefer Temple but they're both ranked about the same and switch btwn one being ranked higher/lower than the other by one or two spots. They both set you up for success. If you're interested in ortho or ophtho, Jefferson might be better bc they have Rothman and Wills Eye. If you want diversity, Temple is going to give you more of that - I know a lot of current students there who are very happy. Hope that helps

Based on your pros and cons, it seems like Jefferson is the clear choice! Plus I’d hate to stick around at my undergrad school for another 4 years.

it's worth noting that Temple's undergrad campus and Temple Med are separated by a few miles and the undergrad students and med students don't interact
