I'm looking for a nice pull-out metal slide holder/drawer to keep my study set slides/recuts for my new office. I'm sick of carrying around the 100-box plastic crap boxes from residency. Where have others purchased them?

I know a lot of folks who 'borrowed' drawers from the main slide storage with the hospital/group.

i found this online. pretty cheap, and solid. yeah i wanted more than just a dinky elongate slide storage drawer used in typically hospital slide keeping. i wanted a mini-one, as pictured. i'll let you know how it turns out when i get it.

Seems like a pretty reasonable price too. Thanks for the link, may have to invest.

Where did you get your cheapo slide boxes? I ought to start building my slide collection.

How often do you use your residency/fellowship recuts? Seriously dude...

The only slides Ive kept over the years were ones I used in published cases. The rest languish in a sealed box somewhere.

Ive got a partner that taught residents at 2 university programs for the better part of 20 years and even he doesnt keep that crap.

I agree. I quit getting recuts after my first year once I realized I wasn't going to sit around looking at these slides ever again. Now I take a few digital pictures of rare interesting cases so I have them ready to go for lectures.

i've received the unit and must say i'm happy with it.

while i'm still involved in publishing/research and use the slide box for these activities, i still get recuts for diagnostic purposes now that i'm in prv ptc as well to refer to quickly when i have a case where particular weirdos i've seen in the past (and have slides of) are in the ddx for me to readily compare to.
