Any thoughts on if a SLOR from a peds em doc would be looked at more like a letter from other EM docs or more like a letter from a non-em physician? Or should a peds em doc even be using the SLOR?
One of my best SLORs was from a PedsEm attemding at one of the major programs. I was told after the match that the letter from him carried a lot of weight on the decision. Of course I ended up doing to a DO program, so it may be different from the allopathic programs.
Sorry for grave digging, but I had a similar question.
I have been working with a pediatric emergency medicine doc for about a year now and I wanted to request an SLOR from him. He did his residency in pediatrics and then did a fellowship in Peds/EM. He also has a PHD. Fellow students told me it would not carry much weight since he is a pediatrician originally . Is this true?
Sounds kind of silly to me?
I just wanted to hear your thoughts on the matter.
