So I interviewed at Stony Brook on mid september. When oct 15 came around I didn't get any response, even though people who had interviewed on the same day as me were getting responses. When it got to october 22 and I still had no decision (positive or otherwise) I called them up and I was told that my interviewer hasn't as yet brought my application to the committee which is why I haven't as yet received a decision on my application. It's frustrating knowing that everybody there on that day but me has gotten a decision, and I'm left waiting because my interviewer hasn't gotten around to taking care of presenting my application. Is there anything I could do about this? I'm guessing that the answer is "NO" but perhaps someone has some idea of what a good course of action might be.

I hear ya, I'm in the same boat.
I interviewed at SB around the time you did and I'm still waiting.

I keep telling myself to relax, I have acceptances elsewhere... but I so far SB was my top choice.

Hang in there averageman. We'll hear soon.

Thats just unprofessional in my opinion.

tough....i would sit tight for now.

this is a delicate time right now....really dont want to do anything to annoy the guy. if hes the type that likes to take his time and not rush then i guess you gotta wait.

but if nov 15 rolls around and its been 2 months and he still hasnt presented your file....then i would call admissions and ask if this common etc...and ask them what you could do because you feel you are put at a disadvantage or something.

maybe hes walking up to the committee right as we speak 😉

i think that it is the responsibility of the ad com to get this interviewer to send his evaluation in....

this is very negligent of both the ad com and the interviewer...

they should look into this matter ASAP, cuz u never know, maybe the interviewer did hand it in, but it got lost through inter-departnmental mail or something...

u should not have to hunt these ppl down after interviews and ask if they handed in your stuff...
u should only need to do that for recs...

ad coms seriously need to look at if these interviewers are responsible enough to do this job!!!

Hire Agent Sydney Bristow to steal the app from your interviewer and secretly place it on the adcom's meeting desk.

Excuse me for my lameness 🙂

Alias fan, anyone?

haha ill laugh at that one calebho..
