Hey everyone!
I'm really starting to look into post bacc programs, and I was wondering if anyone had any helpful information to offer about the MAPP program at SLU?

From the information on their site, I like the way it sounds, but curious about their numbers on getting applicants successful admission into med school the next year as well as any reviews or testimonials from current or past students!

Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated!

I completed the MAPP Program. The major down fall is that they only provide 1/2 of the financial aid therefore the other 1/2 comes out of pocket approximately 12,500. The course work is very difficult and many of the professors teach the same lectures to the medical students, PA students, and PT students. Cadaver labs are definitely a plus with hands on experience with dissection and general anatomy. Its a good program and I have recommended it to friends.

Hi! Sorry I am a little late to this thread. I am currently looking into the MAPP Program. Do you think it's competitive to get in? Also, are people that complete the MAPP program given any sort of special priority for SLU Med School? I would love to PM you about the program if thats okay!

1. SLU MAPP program is NOT competitive at all. Most students apply to this program a week before the deadline and get in.
2. Students are NOT given special consideration to SLU medicine like other similar programs.
3. financial aid only covers half the cost if this is a factor for you.
4. Graduate level courses, the average gpa is a 3.3.

I'd look at other reputable programs with a history of getting students into medical school! Usually those programs have a linkage or a special consideration clause if you meet their gpa and mcat score.
