One of my recommenders told me that she recommended me "for medical school at Johns Hopkins," which is my undergrad institution, and I guess she kind of just assumed I was applying there (she is not all that familiar with med school applications). Since it is an optional letter I can just leave it out for everywhere except JHU but I think it helps my application. So should I ask her to write it again, or do you think it will be fine as is? Or maybe I could send it only to JHU?

Don't send that letter anywhere but JH. If you know her well enough, ask her to make the letter more generic so you can use it elsewhere.

Alright, thanks for the advice! I'll ask her the next time I see her, it's only three words in the rec and doesn't really affect the rest of it, so it should go alright.
