so I submitted my amcas earlier last week. BUT I just noticed a SMALL typo in my PS!! There is no period at the end of my essay.

Will adcoms care about this? lol.... such a stupid mistake!

Can't really comment on whether they'll care, but I can tell you (not that I'm proud of it) I had mistakes in my PS and several of my activities and wasn't hindered.

That's not to say it doesn't matter; clearly polished is best. But it is to say I'm sure you'll be just fine (especially given how I could imagine somebody literally just missing that you even made that mistake) and you shouldn't worry about it now that you can't do anything about it anyway. Good luck!

It will likely not have a huge impact, if any at all.

Withdraw your application, you careless MONSTER! What if LIVES were on the line?!?

If literally a single adcom cares about this, I'll eat my shoe.

I heard schools screen out applications that are missing a period at the end of the personal statement.

You should go to every medical schools you applied, and wait for them to print your application. As soon as it comes out from printers, snatch it and fix with your pen.

I had about 27 mistakes on my PS (One of my friend counted them for me), and I had 10 interviews

URM? 45 MCAT? 4.0 from Yale/Harvard/Princeton?

I had a friend with a single mistake in their PS who got ZERO interviews!

I think it depends on the mistake. A period really shouldn't hold some one back.

I also had one minor mistake -- still did fine. Stop worrying now.
If you go back and re-read things your whole application might seem like a mistake. I went back to my AMCAS after a few months and definitely thought "why did I write that" or "that sounds dumb" etc.
although revisiting your app before interviews could be useful.

This is why you never read essays, grants, papers, etc once they're submitted.
