The cheaper that smart phones get, the more widespread they seem to be across campus. I was curious if anyone had some "can't live without" apps. I already have two daily MCAT apps, which I really like. I also use MedMentor which is a pretty genius way of keeping hours and contact info together. Are there any AMCAS apps, directory of med school apps, MSAR apps, or anything along those lines? Although some MCAT stuff is nice, I don't know about baying $10 for an app that allows me to review stuff on my phone. Unfortunately I think its a bit of wishful thinking. Can anyone recommend anything?

I think Kaplan had some flash card Apps for MCAT. Maybe look at those. Otherwise I would have some fun and look at other mainstream Consumer Alps 🙂 not just Medical related. Dropbox is sweet Too look into that

SDN.

How are those Kaplan apps?

I was thinking about diving into the SDN app, but i'm worried that would allow me to carry around my afflication in my pocket versus just keeping it to my laptop.

I've tried a kaplan vocab course and it's actually pretty good. As of this post, they have an "exam bust" app that is free for a limited time. I'm downloading it and will let you know how good it is.

Thanks for the advice!

This doesn't have to do with MCAT or applications, but I started using Evernote this semester on my iPad (there's an iPhone version too) for class notes and for compiling papers for my thesis. You sync with Evernote online and with your computer's Evernote app, so you can always access your papers and notes. They also have a pretty neat app called Evernote Peek which uses the smart cover (there's a virtual smart cover for iPhone) for flash cards. 👍
