I did it my sophomore year. It helped my resume a little and made great friends. Did it help me greatly? No.
To sum it up, I did not get an interview at the school where I did SMDEP! by the way, I got in to 7 schools so that should tell you.

Did you feel that being an SMDEP alumni helped in getting more acceptances/interviews? (ex. Was is a common topic at your interviews?)

And it's really surprising that you didn't even get an interview at your site...even though you got accepted to a handful of other schools...

Hey guys,
I rather not say what program I went to, but it has a good reputation if that means anything. I do not feel it helped me in getting more interviews or acceptances. It was actually never brought up during the interviews. It was a great experience and made some awesome friends and learned a little bit, but overall I don't think it help me in the admissions process. Good luck! PM if you have specific questions
