I was wondering if you were not accepted as a freshman applicant, could you apply again as a sophomore?

Also which sites are not as competitive for pre-dental students?

You can reapply. SMDEP primarily wants URM and disadvantaged students though, which may be a reason why you weren't accepted in the first place. Houston seems to be more fair in terms of race/status selectiveness. I did SMDEP at Case Western, but was the only Asian out of the entire class... how I got in, I don't really know :/

Hello,

I attended SMDEP Louisville in the Summer of 2009 and REALLY enjoyed my experience there. I have heard the Louisville site was not as competitive as others, but I do know of a few people that weren't selected for there. Also, Louisville is the only one who gives you credit (3.0), that I know of.

When I interviewed there, myself and another SMDEP scholar were recognized in front of the other 23 interviewees or so as having participated in SMDEP, which really felt like an honor. They really respect their previous scholars. One of my friends did the SMDEP louisville and was asked about it at other SMDEP sites when she interviewed. Some people say they did SMDEP and they weren't even interviewed at their sites, but it's not some magical wand that gets you in the door, grades, GPA, and DAT still matter.

That being said, I was accepted there this AM! I am very excited to go there!

PM me with more questions!
