So, I don't know if my research skills have waned since finishing this SMP, but for the life of me, I can't figure out how to factor an SMP GPA into a LizzyM score. I know that theres flaws to the score and blah blah blah. I already have my school list picked out, but I'm just more so curious.

Also, I had a low uc GPA(3.1) and uBCPM GPA(2.9) and my trend (with my SMP) literally looks like a Nike Swoosh™️.

Any suggestions?

Use your SMP gpa, not the cGPA.

that said, you still have to Target those schools that reward reinvention.

Thanks again @Goro. Every time I stress out I inevitably find one of your posts to help me calm down. 3.1 sGPA, 3.33 cGPA (after several retakes), 4.0 SMP & 510 mcat. Decided to focus on DO programs, but I'm still stressed out because of my atrocious undergraduate GPA.
People get in DO schools with you GPA and MCAT without an SMP. No need to worry. With that being said I would also focus on low tier MD and those that reward reinvention.

Thanks! I did submit AMCAS to my state MD and TCU, but I'm just treating those like reach schools. Having shadowed DO's and MD's I can honestly say there is no difference outside of the ID badges. I feel like once you're closer to 30 than 20 (somehow a 1st time applicant) you realize it doesn't matter. As long as i'm able to help others, I'll be happy with whatever I get.
No difference only once you're in residency.

With a 4.0 SMP GPA and 510 MCAT, you should be aiming higher. You should have around ten MD schools on your list; places like Albany or Drexel might bite. Good luck. Make sure you have a lot of DO schools on your list as well; ten to fifteen should suffice.

I also have 2 IAs from freshman year of undergrad. I figure Bad Grades+Bad Behavior= DOA at a lot of schools, which is why I'm focusing on DO schools that might be a little more understanding and reward me for turning it around the last 2 years of undergrad and in the SMP
What are your IAs? An IA is not necessarily DOA. (Example: one of my friends is at 6 interviews and has a drug IA from long ago).

Are these long enough ago that they can just build their school list based on GPA/MCAT as normal or should they still give themselves a small handicap?

It is long enough in the past and given that it was booze & weed, it shouldn't be a roadblock.
