CalMedU an applicant for an MD medical school just recently opened a SMP program similar to those at established medical school to improve applications. My question is, is it worth it to take an SMP at a new program? Will it be recognize by other university? Below is the description of the program.

The MBS is a 2-semester (33 credit) program. The discipline-based curriculum is delivered by collaborative basic science faculty in the School of Medicine.

The MBS curriculum is designed around 4 key components that are necessary to strengthen students' candidacies for health and academic careers: (1) academic credentials, (2) communication and interview skills, (3) professional development skills, and (4) critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The student-centered curriculum, active learning experiences, and career advising services enhance students' candidacy for healthcare professional programs, including MD and DO medical schools, PhD programs, schools of dentistry, pharmacy, physician assistant, and other health-related or biomedical research-oriented programs.

It's not a med school yet. It's not a real school, even. Hell, it's not even a real SMP yet! SMPs are a dime a dozen.... get one from a more extant program.

From their website:
The degree programs in California University of Science and Medicine are not accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

Weird, I see they have their application available for students to apply and class will start on August 28 2017. Isn't it illegal to recruit students if they're not accredited?
