Has anyone been to, or heard anything about, wayne states smp?
I do plan on calling them, but id also like your opinion, and anyone with knowledge of, or attended/is attending/planning to attend their SMP.

Basically, would my GPA (after this year) of 2.80 gain admission?
Also, how competitive are these SMP? Thanks!

Hello, I think your Gpa will be fine as long as you have a decent DAT, MCAT or GRE to apply with. I spoke with Brenda cannon who is the program advisor and she said they look at your application as a whole and not just solely on stats. I also have many friends who got into Waynes med school after doing a couple semesters of 3.8+ work despite having sub 3.0 gpas in undergrad. It's a great program and has proven to get people in med/dental/pharmacy schools from what I know.

I actually was accepted to this program and attended for only a semester (at the time with 17 DAT and 3.1ish GPA). At the time it wasn't the best program for me, but I do know multiple people who went through the program and were accepted to medical/dental school.

The program is very well organized and all of the teachers were very approachable. All of the students I knew worked together, studied, etc. so the atmosphere was good. I recommend it especially if you are from Michigan or hoping to attend UM or Detroit Mercy (both admissions offices recommended it at the time).

It has been a few years since I was there but if you have any questions feel free to PM me.

I am sure you will get in. Best of luck!
