So I'm hoping to receive some advice in regards to this. I finished my SMP recently with a GPA of 3.62. I understand that many people around here state that in order to get into an MD school, you need to have a 3.7+ GPA. I'm not looking to get into Harvard or anything like that. I'm just hoping my state school as well as some of the local private medical schools and the ones that accept regional applicants like me show me some love.
My GPA was the result of me getting a B- in Gross Anatomy (mainly cause it was taught online due to COVID) as well as a B+ in a Physiology course. I received two A- and the rest A's. Don't get me wrong, I'm extremely grateful that I was able to achieve a decent GPA. I'm just wondering, is my application basically screwed for MD schools because of the grade I got from Gross Anatomy? Would there be any leniency from some schools because COVID was a thing this past year and online classes for a course like gross anatomy might not be the best option to actually learn the material? Would med schools look at the other grades I got instead of just glaring at that one B- or is that too hard to ignore?
