SMP program... the grades count towards as graduate degree right? if i was interested in raising my UGPA... i'm under the understanding that SMP program isn't suited for me, right? i'm also under the assumption that i'm not eligible for most post-bacc programs cause i took all the pre-reqs... so how exactly do i go about in raising my UGPA... ?

here's my credential:

UGPA: 2.94 (science) 3.11 (overall) -- biology and classics double major
Grad GPA: 3.7 -- PhD immunology (Emory Univ/Dr. Rafi Ahmed)
GRE: i forget the exact score... but i did ok -- verbal: ~650; quant: ~750

** two first author papers in respectable journal and 3 non-first author papers **

Yes, SMP grades are graduate level and do not count towards your undergraduate GPA. SMPs are basically auditions for medical school: you spend 60K for the chance to take medical school classes (normally with the medical school students), and then medical schools will accept you, or reject you forever, on the basis of the grades you recieve there.

to raise your ugrad gpa, there are two types of post-baccs you are probably interested in:

one is formal, structured post-baccs for "academic record enhancers." these have varying requirements and time committments and are relatively rare.

the other (which is probably better suited for you) is an informal post-bacc. you can probably do this through your current university or a local state school. you are enrolled and take whatever ugrad classes you want to take... in this case upper-div ugrad science courses.

because you are a double major, you probably have a lot of units/credits so it may take a lot of classes to bring your GPA up.
