SMP linkage question

Hey, guys,
I have a question about SMP's linkage program, i heard from a friend that some SMPs have linkage programs to their own medical school, meaning if you do good in the SMP, you are garanteed to get into their medical school, is this true?

Yup. Most SMPs have some sort of linkage to their medical school (for at least the top 10-20% of the class), but some are much more extreme. The highest linkage programs are Tulane (95% linkage) and EVMS (85% linkage). There are also programs that are midrange, like Tulane's Pharm program (60% linkage).

Does 95% linkage means 95% of them will be ganranteed to go into their med school?... wow....

That's an average, of course, not a guarentee. If they got a particularly ass-hatish class they could easily only let in 50% for that year. Same for all the other programs I mentioned.
