Hey everyone, I've been digging the past 3 hours and have gotten some information about all the SMP programs but now as much as I wanted. Also most of the information were from 2009-2010

I got into RFUMS, NYU, BU and EVMS SMP programs.

My question is which program has the highest % matriculation into their own med school or any other good US med school after or throughout the program? Which programs are best to get into top tier medical schools ?

I heard Georgetown from 2 people that attended it last year wasn't the best choice cause 1) tuition and 2) the matriculation rate into its own program and other med schools was very bad.

Please if someone can give me a detailed response I would very very much appreciate it.
Thank you so much for your time !

Which programs are best to get into top tier medical schools?

None of them. If you have the stats necessary to get into a top-tier medical school then you have no business doing an SMP.

My question is which program has the highest % matriculation into their own med school or any other good US med school after or throughout the program?

First, all US medical schools are good. Matriculation rates vary year to year, but I would say that generally the ranking that I would assign from best to worst is as follows:

1) EVMS
2) Cinci
3) Toledo
4) RFU

1-4 are all pretty close. Each has historically had a same-year admit rate above 60%. Each of them gets a large percentage of their grads into their host med school.

I'm not including Tulane ACP, which requires people to be on a med school or DO waitlist to even apply, or Temple ACMS, which generally takes people with GPAs above that of most SMP people. However, those programs get 90%+ of their grads into their respective medical schools.

Anyway, there's already a thread on this.

I see, thank you for your time. I see you didn't include Boston, what's your opinion on it? That was my first choice when I got my acceptances

BU takes less than 20% of their SMP kids. They are aiming to get you into any med school, not necessarily BU.

I see, so overall - the SMP which gives you the highest/best chance to get into medical school in the US is by this order? (from the ones I am accepted to)

EVMS > RFUMS > BU > NYU ?

No because you are ranking based on chance of getting admitted to the host school. If your stats are already good than BU might just give you a better chance at some of the top 30 or 20 medical schools if that matters to you.

But honestly I think you should read more on here because all your questions have been answered many times. Don't make a new thread for any question that pops into your mind.
