SMP question

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
yeah actually that is what most people do.

Senior year of college, they begin to apply for SMP's at around January, and a few months later, they take MCAT (if not taken previously) and then apply to medical school. On the AMCAS they indicate that they are going to be starting an SMP and during the SMP, your SMP advisors at your new grad school update the medschools to which you applied about your test grades.

check out the post-bacc forums, there's a plethora of information.

admin can you please move this to "post-bacc" forums?

Not necessarily. For some programs, you can choose to apply later (GU). For others, you have to have applied previously and been waitlisted at a med school (Tulane). Most people do apply while in an SMP, though.

So i can apply to get into an SMP such as University of Cincinnati or GEMS with out first applying to a medical school?

I'm not sure about specific programs beyond Tulane's ACP and GU's SMP.

I'd encourage you to e-mail the programs you're interested in.
