Hey everyone,

I am in a bit of a bind.

I go to Hunter College and they don't allow for you to take Organic Lab 1 and 2 in the semester. I took 1 last summer got real sick and missed a few labs. Now they didn't let me retake the lab because it wouldn't be fair to other students. So they averaged a few 0's into my class average. Bottom line, I got a D, D isn't satisfactory so of course I have to retake it. Whatever thats okay. Now heres the doozy.

I will be done with all my undergraduate work by May of this year I want to do an SMP in the Fall and then apply to MD school while I'm dong the SMP.

Now they don't offer Orgo 1 lab in the winter. I'm taking orgo 2 lab in the spring but I can't take the 1st lab with it because "it isn't allowed." my school is filled with jackasses I swear.

Now my only shot is, retake lab 1 in the summer which is from June- Mid July, the grade will be in mid July, but they don't have summer graduation. So my diplomas effective date would read September, opposed to July. Late August the SMP starts. Now everything else will be submitted in a timely manner, do you think I'll have a problem? Can you offer me some advice please. I emailed Georgetown asking the same question I hope they respond but I can't help but worry.

The only people who can answer your question meaningfully are those from the SMP you're attending. Keep e-mailing them, and pick up the phone and call if it's truly urgent. That's your best shot for a legitimate answer.
