I just read something on SMP requirements...is it mandatory or necessary to take the MCAT prior to applying to SMPs?

I have not researched all of them, but I am unaware of an exception. That doesn't mean there isn't one, though.

Since most SMP's are designed to help those with a better MCAT than GPA, it's not likely. When I was applying to SMP's, all the ones that I read about required an MCAT. There are more programs these days though so that may have changed.
