Snail Mail?

sorry to take up a whole thread for this but what exactly is snail mail and the difference between email/snail mail/ and regular mail.

email is obviously is mail sent via the internet

snail mail is regular mail sent via the post office (received at a mailbox) - takes forever hence "snail mail."
