Does anyone have plans of going to the SNMA Conference next year in April and the AMSA Conference this year?

I'm going to the Region 5,7,9 AMSA Conference in April. Miami baby!! 😀
Maybe the national conference in ... DC? If I have enough money after applying. What's SNMA?

Oh cool. Yes, I realized I could have googled it, but ... ok I have no excuse. So no one else is going to either one?

I've been to two national AMSA conferences, but I end up spending all my time touring the city 😀

What do you exactly do at the conferences? Listen to people speak, Intoduce and chat with other future doctors, does anyone know what exactly goes on at the confences?

I've only been to AMSA's regional conference. Didn't make the national one because of the MCAT. But here's what we did: You listen to speakers in a big group, and in small groups where you get to know the speaker better and can ask lots of questions and introduce yourself. There was a poster exhibition of some research projects and a residency recruitment fair for med students (but you can get free stuff if you act interested!). They set up a really interesting bus tour of the most toxic places for people to live and work in and a universal healthcare rally. You'll most definitely get one of those at an AMSA conference. And a mixer and late night outtings to a club or something. Lots of great food, and really a lot of fun. The most valuable thing you'll take away are connections with other students and accomplished doctors (if you're brave/interesting enough to approach them). In my experience, conferences are all about networking because that's the point of getting people together.
