Help! I cannot seem to decide between 3 schools: upenn, maryland, uop.

• i want to live where there's lots of shopping, places to eat etc -->upenn
• i want to not have to struggle to get chairs or patients -->maryland or uop
• i want to be a pampered student for once in my life--> uop
• it would be nice to stay close to home so if I fall sick, my parents drive down and check up on me --> uop
• it would be also nice to stay away from home and get some independence -->maryland or upenn
• i want to get a diploma from a great school with good name -->upenn
• the best clinical experience-->uop
• good public health opportunities-->maryland
• want to be in safe neighborhood--> uop>>upenn>maryland
• school that "opens more doors"--> upenn (name factor)
• cheaper school is better--> maryland (got scholarship)>>uop=upenn
• want to have exams spread out rather than all at once-->upenn (not sure about maryland or uop?)
• want to go to a school with great facilities -->maryland

What's most important to me?

• good recreational activities/liveliness around school within walking distance-->upenn
• having spread out exams-->upenn
• not having to stress about chairs/patients-->maryland
• being safe-->uop
• (notice money is not a big factor)

Everything seems so balanced right now--to me atleast. Can anyone help me out with this?? The maryland second deposit is due in a few days!!!

First of all, the "UPenn" name will not "get you places" like you think it will. Yes, it's an Ivy, but in dental school, that doesn't go as far as you would think. Patients will not know or care where you went and matching in a specialty school has little to do with what school you went to(this last point is arguable, but most of the dentists I know who specialize tell me this). Take the , "UPenn has a better name factor" out of your decision.

My advice, if $$ was not an issue(and I really think it should be!), I would be to go to UoP. If you like being pampered, shopping and want good clinical experience, it's a great choice. Plus, you're out in 3 years, that means you start getting paid sooner, that means more shopping!! 😀
