The other day at work, my pharmacist ran a prescription for Prozac and he noticed that the patient was a dog. WTF! A depressing dog? FML
:boom:

Any funny experience you guys want to share?

Yeah I actually know a few people who have been giving their dogs prozac for quite some time now. My mother's cousin has a pitbull who takes it. lol

I'm not positive on this, but I think it has something to do with controlling the anxiety and resulting aggressiveness rather than depression. Since SSRIs are often prescribed for GAD, OCD, etc.. I guess that is why it helps dogs with their psychological issues. lmao

I work in a compounding pharmacy and we make a prescription for a dog (names Chyna...no joke) that has Viagra in it. We think its for the dog's heart, but you never know...😉

this is not uncommon at all. I've seen this often at the pharmacy I work at.

My pharmacy sells an inhaler to a dog. . . I think that would be harder to administer than a pill.

The tech on my IPPE was talking about a script she got that said "a dog for therapeutic purposes" and the person was asking where to fill it. The tech had no idea where to send the customer. Maybe there is some kind of service dog center that hands out prescription dogs?
