This is just for fun... Give your specialty and the specialty of your SO. Wondering if there are any trends. Include if you are F/M.

Me: Peds(female) + Medicine(male)

...apparently, the trend so far is that male Medicine residents date female doctors?

Not a resident yet but

Radiology (male) + OB (female)

I am mercifully not married to another doctor...I can't imagine how horrible that must be.

But some colleagues of mine:

F: IM to ID + M: ENT
F: Gen Surg + M: IM
F: Hem/Onc + M: EM
F: Path + M: Hem/Onc
F: Peds/Sleep + M: Hem/Onc
F: Vet + M: ENT

Me (F): Radiology
Husband: Anesthesiology

I know two other radiology-anesthesiology couples at our program, but in both of those the guy is radiology and the girl anesthesia.

The only trend I've noticed in medical couples is that if the girl specializes, the guy is more likely to be specialized. But this may be more a product of my med school...I'm not sure.

Me: ortho

Her: anesthesia (attending and sugar momma)

We were residents at the same hospital. Luckily, we only ever coincided in the OR a couple of times. She abhors my ortho bravado.

interesting topic!

me: Ob/Gyn
him: Ortho

Me (male): Radiation Oncology
Wife: Pediatrics

A few others that I can think of in my graduating class and/or residency program:
M (Anesthesiology) + F (Pathology)
M (Anesthesiology) + F (Radiology)
M (Radiation Oncology) + F (Dermatology)
M (Radiology) + F (Pediatrics)
M (Radiology) + F (Radiology)
M (Anesthesiology) + F (General Surgery)
M (Radiation Oncology) + F (Radiology)
M (Heme/Onc) + F (Nephrology)

I am sure that I know more, but that is all that I have for now.
