MD & DO So like how do you go about choosing which residency programs to apply to?

I have been mainly relying on locations, IM board exam pass rate, and number of IMGs and DOs to determine where to apply but it feels quite random.


Also, is there any in state bias when it comes to selecting applicants? For example, I noticed that Texas programs tend to have a lot of people from Texas schools.

i would try to use internet archive to see where the grads end up unless already published. For example, if you want GI and nobody has matched GI in 40 years, then it’s probably not a great match
