I will mainly be using this thread to keep progress
I completely messed up my GPA for my freshman year with the second semester...
First semester GPA : 3.5
Chem 1 B+
Bio B+
Math A
English B
Second Semester 2.9+
Chem 2 B
Bio 2 C+
Calc 2 B+
Kin B+

Overall will be around 3.2+ i believe

Next semester, i am looking to turn things around drastically as i am really pissed off at that bio 2 grade and need to boost my gpa and aiming for a 4.0.
I have no research thus far but i am looking to start this coming semester.
This summer, i am volunteering at red cross, an old age home and a hospital and taking an EMT B course and i will start volunteering as an EMT after passing the exam as well. I am the treasurer for a cultural group here at umass and looking towards getting a position in my fraternity as well in which we do a lot of community work as well.
What are my chances by junior year if i maintain a high gpa from now on and get a good mcat score at in state schools or others as well?

Taking Bio 2, Chem 2, and Calc 2 in one semester may have biting off more than you can chew. Show an upward trend from here, and keep your options open. Good luck.

actually they were really easy and bio i could have def done better, i just slacked now that i look at it, had a lot of free time and and barely put in any effort... in fact chem 2 was easier than chem 1 lol and my major is kin, looking to research in that area

Just an update, finished my second year. Got a 3.5+ gpa this semester, not sure yet. Got a C+ in Orgo 2 though 😕

more updates, volunteering at a Alzheimers retirement home, a hospital (hopefully in the surgery area) and will be volunteering as an EMT-B at my school.
Also got a research position in the Kinesiology department for next year.

Taking the MCATs this summer. About to start a Kaplan course.
