Well I just got back my second test in math and I got another D so I am at best going to get a C from my math class. This is my first real math I took two lower level maths to try and help prepare me for college algebra.

So pretty much why I am posting is I am wondering how bad do you guys think this is going to affect me for pharmacy school I am probaly going to end up at best with a C in calculus when the time comes. I currently still have a 4.0 but after this term that will go down a little bit I have gotten A's in class's like microbiology, phyics, anatomy and physiology. I have taken a introduction into chemistry and did alright so guess I will pull atleast some b's there.

I dunno what it is but for some reason college algebra just kills me I am not normaly bad at school like I said I have gotten A's in all my class's execpt for now so any input in if I am screwed and any advice would be great.

Oh and I already use my math lab like daily and usally meet with a tutor once a week and tried talking to the teacher and he is lost in how to help me.

Well, obviously you do not have bad study habits due to your A's in other classes. Very odd that you're having difficulty with college algebra when you're making A's in other( and i believe more difficult) courses. Math is a little bit different than other subjects though. I'm very good at math so I dunno what it is like to be in your situation. hang in there and just keep practicing as many example problems as you can. Don't try and remember one set way to do things like so many other people do with math. If you really try to understand how and why you're doing something it will really help you in the later classes(calc I and II). Also not all math involves college algebra......hang in there and try your best. Good luck...

Also try and get help from multiple sources, as they may explain/teach it to you in a different way that best suites your learning ablility.

It's okay - I'm bad at math too. To make it worse, I am actually really bad at counting pills...

hmm i hate it when people relate pharmacy math= counting pills. People learn more complex math in pharmacy than just counting pills. There's kinetics, reactions, thermodynamics, blah blah blah. For the calculus, dont worry about it. If you were able to pass ur chem with an A, then that's all the math you need.

Yeah I hate math too, but I've done okay so far in my math classes (currently taking calc I). A good recommendation may be to take you math classes at a community college or a smaller college over summer. The class size will be smaller, you can talk with the professors more, and the academic competiveness may be (a tad) lower.

Thanks guys for words of encouragment. So you guys think though say worst case I get C's in all my math but keep good grades otherwise that will really screw me for getting into pharmacy school? I think even with C's in math and b's in chem I would keep around a 3.7 or so GPA.
