So very, very confused...Pitt Interviewees help!

Okay, so like a good little neurotic applicant, I logged in to check my Pitt status today. I clicked on the "check interview" and was resigned to the standard "you have not yet been invited to schedule an interview" message that I always get. Then I noticed two (new?) links on the left "Clinical Scientist Training Program" and "Student Hosting." Puzzled, because I don't remember seeing these links before, I clicked and was congratulated on my interview offer and linked to a list of student hosts.

At this point, I am confused as hell. I have the following theories:

1)Administrative error. With thousands of applicants, its bound to happen once and I wasn't supposed to get those links.

2)The links have existed all along and I never noticed. Do other people have these?

3)I am so tired, I am hallucinating. This is a distinct possibility...this has been a heavy week for me (multiple midterms, projects due) and I'm a little sleep-deprived.

4)I actually have an interview. Pitt is one of my top choices, and the possiblity cancels out the midterm I'm fairly certain I flunked this afternoon.

What do you guys think? Is someone having a joke at my expense?

I'm in the same boat as you. Those links are definitely new, but I think they probably just updated their website and this doesn't necessarily mean we're getting an interview. Good luck!

It's reassuring to know they weren't there before. I mean, I couldn't remember seeing them before, but that doesn't mean they weren't there. I know a Pitt undergrad and he says that they are infamous for adminstrative errors, so this is probably just more of the same.

After reading this thread, I realized that I remembered seeing those new links, too. I clicked on the schedule interview link, and it says that I have not been invited to schedule an interview. But when I click on the other 2 links, it says something about congratulations on being selected to interview. Hopefully we can figure out what this means soon. I'd be so excited to interview there - I'd love to go to Pitt!

hmm ... That "congratulations on being invited to an interview" page is what I saw after I was invited and the hosting link appeared. I'm guessing what happened is that they accidentally made the hosting link available to all applicants.

Final word on the matter was that it was a mistake. I called the admissions office (hey, I was up-front about the neurotic thing) today and asked about it. The admissions people were confused...but I didn't have an interview. The links have since dissappeared.

Sooo...false alarm. I was really excited there for a minute too.

One other interesting bit of information was that they said the review takes nine weeks. The admissions lady looked at my complete date (9/13) and said "oh, well they just haven't reviewed you yet; the process takes nine weeks." I thought that was a bit excessive but...no news, so she could be right.

I wish Northwestern would hurry up and reject me. I _know_ its coming and the wait is really annoying.
