So who's waiting?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Still waiting not-so-patiently to hear from my #1. Though last time I talked to them they couldn't even decide whether I was complete or not...

Yeah, that sucks. One of the schools I applied to has half my things missing on their online status check. Except they have my resume, and that was sent with half my other app materials. frustrating

It's amazing, as anal-retentive as many of these schools are when deciding who's in and who's out, that they don't always have their ahem, "stuff" together with receiving apps! I had one school who I sent my GRE scores to TWICE and they weren't getting them. Turns out the ETS sends them to some other office and they had no idea, they wound up (surprise!) finding a bunch of people's GRE scores sitting there.
I'm waiting on 3 more schools, rejected from 4 already. My problem is grades, but I could write a book on that situation so I'll spare you.
This is tough road, my boss from when I was a PT aide went to a conference at a PT school and spoke with one of the admissions director. She said they had over 500 applicants for 40 seats in a class. We are hitting this process at an unfortunate time, I've heard that it goes in cycles and the economy had also made it tougher.
Hang in there I guess!

Still waiting for my #1. Actually my #1 was a tie, and the only acceptance i got was from them, so waiting for the other #1 then decide were to go.

Apparently that's happening a lot! I'm waiting to go to an interview but they sent me a message from the school saying that they were missing my GRE scores, but it was ETS fault and they were working on it

I am going to my interview at my #1 early in February. I hope I am accepted!

130 people interviewing for 40 spots 😎

Wish you the best of luck thorn! Where are you interviewing at?

OK don't shoot me, but Send your stuff with a delivery confirmation w/ signature or Fedex/UPS. This way you can say that look i am sending materials to you, but you guys are loosing my items. This happened to me with transcripts. I sent 1 school about 3 transcripts and they never got them. Finally I asked my transcript department to send the transcript via Fedex with signature required. (I printed out a packing slip and fedex envelope and gave it to transcript office) Miraculously the got that one.

For GRE scores, most schools will accept a copy of the scores you get, but can't use that as an official score. So fax them the copy with a statement that ETS will mail you the official one soon. This way they have something. Most school will accept the unoffical score but will not check off on status page as offical received.

I don't mean to insult anyone's intelligence, but this might help someone else out in the future. Like I said don't shoot me if you already did this. 🙂

Hey...I finally got a letter, my first letter. I applied to four schools and I got my first letter. Turns out, I was rejected. Armstrong Atlantic St. Univ (AASU), they have all their people ready for interviews. This sucks for me since I thought it is one of the schools I would get a chance in. My major problem is my grades. Which is bad news for me since the other schools are tougher than AASU to get in.

Any one know what I can do with my life when I dont get accepted anywhere?

Keep your head up bizzle. If PT is really the field you want to be in, I would suggest not only working as a Tech/Aide in a PT clinic, but also showing a passion outside of PT possibly by working in a youth summer camp, or sports camp, etc to show that you are a well-rounded, GENUINE person, and not just a "pt nerd".

Also, I do not know your grade situation, but have you thought of re-taking any pre-req classes? That would show a lot of dedication to admission committees.

If it doesn't go your way the first time and you really want it, reapply! While it's disappointing, there is no shame in that. I know several people who were not accepted with their first round of applications, some getting in on third & fourth attempt. IMO as a clinical instructor, the more life experience you have going into PT school, the better you will be as a student and clinician after graduation.

Best wishes :luck:

Yes, I agree I always like to be 150% sure, so I contacted the school when I got the message but they told me they had already contacted ETS and that everything was ok from my part.

Yeah, never had any problem w/ transcripts, just the GRE that the ETS is responsible for sending. I got to the bottom of it and the right office got them.

Speaking of missing app materials, I just checked my online status at one of the schools I applied to. I'm now missing a form that wasn't listed yesterday. The "pre-requisite tracking form (sent by PT)". Unfortunately, there was nothing about this form on their admissions page, and I can't find it anywhere on the site. Oh well, guess I got a call to make Monday!

If you don't mind, what are your stats? I have been rejected from 3 schools and waiting on another 4. My GRE score was 930 and my GPA is 3.16. What schools did you apply to?

Thanks.

yeah i just finished one of my interviews yesterday.... and they said it would probably be in march that they give me a call back... man... i wish they could tell me in a week! haha. just a little anxious...😕

Has anyone interviewed at grand valley? I'm dying to hear something back after my interview on January 12th.:scared:

Still waiting to hear from Midwestern, Pacific, Thomas Jefferson, Duquesne, and MGH.

I hear because of PTCAS, applicants are in record amounts this year, it makes sending applications so much faster and easier, with just one click.

None of the schools I applied to had PTCAS so I'm not sure if there was any effect on number of applicants to them. Oh well, still waiting... almost patiently🙄

Yeah it wont affect you, only PTCAS applicants. good luck!

I'm still waiting as well....just trying to focus on preparing for interviews. I am waiting to hear from University of Puget Sound and University of Vermont. I have interviews coming up at University of New England, MGH and Northern Arizona University. Good luck to everyone 🙂

Good luck at ur interviews... if you havent heard about NAU's process I have many friends who applied there (I live in Arizona), and they say it is pretty intense.

Prepare well but dont be rehearsed!

still waiting to hear back from 2 of the schools i interviewed with (TWU and UTMB), should hopefully get some kind of news in the next couple of weeks. the wait is insane!

Waitlisted at UMich, my number one school! Still waiting on two others and praying for U of M. I might not know until July and it's killing me already.

I'm waiting to hear back from Texas Tech and Pacific University. I had no idea pacific took 40 out of 140 interviewed. The wait is killer, but I am somewhat alleviated by the knowledge that I will be taking a spring break trip soon. I figure I'll either be partying to celebrate or to ease the pain. haha, gotta love Padre.

Still waiting to hear back from UNLV and USC (South Carolina). Hopefully news will come soon; I hate seeing an empty mailbox.

I'm still waiting on Army-Baylor program, the board just got done meeting this week, so I should know something in the next couple weeks!!

yeah i check my mailbox like 3 times a day even AFTER i had already gotten the mail, just in case, ya know, magic. lol

lol.
has anyone given up hope yet? im starting to think about it. Its march 4th =(

Maybe we should just rename this thread 'So who's officially freaking out??!!'
I'm still waiting to hear from a number of schools (2 places I've interviewed and 2 w/ no interviews- U. Puget Sound and U. Montana)- though my apps were in relatively late. Still have 2 interviews in the next two weeks as well.
I'm trying to remain positive, and hoping that I'm not just waiting for rejections to come trickling in!!! Oh the agony. I don't know if I feel worse for myself or the poor refresh button on my email.
