I thought somatic nervous system only consists of efferent neurons associated with skeletal muscle ( not sensory neurons).

Destroyer # 96 asks for the false statement but this statement " the somatic nervous system contains both sensory and motor neurons " is not the answer! Am I missing something here? so somatic nervous systems contains both sensory and motor neurons?

Yes somatic nervous system has both sensory and motor neurons. The only difference is that somatic doesn't have any presynaptic or postsynaptic like you'd see in sympathetic and parasympathetic. Somatic nerves go straight to brain and organ (normally skeletal muscle).
