Hi everyone, just looking for some advice.

So I'm currently a family med intern, and I'm applying to Path. While my PD is supportive for the most part, he is being pretty strict about allowing me time off. It's understandable, since the rotations that I have during prime interviewing time are rotations that I can't take vacation on.

Anyway, that pretty much leaves me with the week of Halloween being the easiest week for me to interview. My question is this: how should I approach programs who have NOT YET invited me to interview about my interest in their program and my desire to interview there during that specific week? I don't want to sound pretentious, like I'm assuming that I'll get an interview. I just want to avoid as much friction as possible.

Thanks!

I've been wondering the same thing about programs I've applied to but not yet heard from, that are in close geographical proximity to programs that I have received interviews from. If they are interested in interviewing me, I would like to set up my interview to coincide with the time that I will be in the area.

Any thoughts on the etiquette about contacting programs under such circumstanctes??

It doesn't hurt to call. The worst case scenario is that they know you are interested in their program. But act within reason - be polite, etc.
