For all doctors...
I'll be graduating next year (I hope) and I've decided to look for an associateship in the west coast.

I've contacted some friends who may know dentists here and there - but I would like some suggestions as to how I should go about looking for an associateship.

How did you do it? is alumni networking the way to go? supply companies? head-hunters?

thanks in advance

look on Dentaltown classified or the back of JADA. Also look at your states dental association, they may have an associate placement service. I know that Arizona does have listing for positions and/or dentists looking for work or help. Or just suck it up and buy a practice.

Supply companies know who is thinking of taking on an associate and who is thinking about cutting back or retiring. They have a vested interest in you getting a job as anohter provider working means more supplies to sell. Also, they know who is current with their bill and who is a deadbeat.
