So although I rarely post, I am a frequent stalker on this page. I found the DAT breakdowns helpful, so before I forget everything (it's already a blur) here it is...

PAT...19
QR....16 :luck: because I guessed on almost every single one
RC....19 PIANO 😡😡
BIO...21
GC...20
OC...20
TS...20
AA...19

I should mention I took the DATs last year and these were my scores...

PAT...19
QR...13
RC....21
BIO...18
GC.....16
OC.....18
TS.....17
AA.....17

PAT: you guys know the drill... Crack the dat pat was where it's at haha. I only did like 6 practice tests and I was scoring 18-19 so very similar. On the real thing... keyholes were much easier than CDP, TFE was impossible, hole punching was cake, angles were completely impossible and pattern folding was difficult but if you can do it in CDP you can do it here.

QR: I guessed on so many I can't even tell you. I practiced for this section after getting a 13 last time, but it's NOT ENOUGH TIME. it just isnt. no way. I knew how to do those problems, but they require time, oh which there is NONE. I dont have advice for this section. guess well.

RC: When the passage came up and i read the title that said "The Piano" I almost threw up. rightfully so, it was impossible. The questions made me want to cry and I almost did. Luckily the other two passages were really easy. cAMP (which i knew everything about) and aspirin which was interesting. There were tone questions and things like what did the auther mean by this, were they pessimistic or optimistin. who the #(*$&#(&% knows. Im surprised by the 19 to be honest, piano is f'n crazy. pray to God you dont get that one. IF you do, stay calm and just guess as much as you can and do well on the other two.

BIO: mmmm eeeaassssyyy. I thought i got a 30 but i guess i made stupid mistakes. it WAS NOT random guys. it was IDENTICAL to the destroyer. LITERALLY no joke, same exact questions. I was a bio major and have a lot of upper level bio classes though especially this last spring semester. I honestly think that's the best preparation. classes to take: FUNDAMENTAL OF CELL BIO!!! do it!! materials i used... Kaplan white book (with course), Cliffs AP bio, Cliff's ap bio practice exams (there are 5 and they are awesome), and i went through Destroyer bio twice. What was extremely helpful that i saw someone else do on this website was to just write down whatever you got wrong in any practice tests/destroyer and keep that list and then go through it. OOOH and i suggest exam krackers MCAT bio... it's so cute and fun and the pictures are pretty.... good for physiology and stuff. take lots of practice tests such as the kaplan course ones if you can get them, topscore, achiever (way too hard but good).

GC: well guys what can i tell you... clearly this was the hardest section for me. I got a 16 last time. I can't even tell you how much i studied for GC holy cr*p. I got a GC tutor to basically teach me GC from scratch. I went through the kaplan blue/white book, then did every subject test, then i went through the DESTROYER GEN CHEM 6 times!!!!!!!!!!!!! im not kidding, 6 times. 6!! you dont have to go that far but i literally did not know GC at all. On the test it was easy, im surpised i didnt do better but im verrry happy with a 20.

OC: destroyer destroyer destroyer i did it 4 times. also i went through the entire odyssey. it's overkill but OC was weak for me.

My overall opinion. topscore is very accurate, you do well on that you will get a similar score, +1 or +2 points. In my case +1

on average i was scoring 19GC, 19BIO and 19OC on topscore
achiever the bio is ridiculous and i never got higher than a 17 but on the chems i was scoring 18-20. Kaplan practice tests 20-21 bio, 18-20 GC and 18-20 OC

my last practice test was achiever and i got
BIO- 18
GC- 20
OC- 19

let me know if there is anything else i can answer im tiredddd but happy with my scores, i know they arent 29s but i worked hard and did my best.

When you say Bio was similar to Destroyer, do you mean that some of the questions were EXACTLY from destroyer, or the question types were similar?

Also, did you get a lot of IR/Carbohydrate questions in Orgo?

Thanks!

I had a few Qs that were identical to the ones in destroyer and most of them were variations, meaning that if you understood (not memorized) the destroyer bio you would have no problem at all.

I didn't have any carbohydrate q's
i had one IR that was hard. also i had an easy proton NMR one.

congratulation. solid improvement over the last one
you didn't give up and worked hard

👍

what topics on GC did you find the hardest? Im not very good at GC and I need to start focusing my studies (test in 7 days)

haha I knew 0 GC two months ago. Everything was hard. I would probably say concepts behind things were what i found most difficult. I had a hard time with Rates, Acid-base chem, thermochem, electrochem, solubility rules. Best advice i can give is read the kaplan blue book and then do the destroyer multiple times. It really prepares you for the real thing, in fact, i had two questions on my dat that were exact questions from the destroyer but with different numbers and one question that was shamelessly the same question. so that is 3 questions that took me like two seconds and were quick easy points. i feel like im plugging the destroyer hardcore but im kind of astonished how it helped me.
