I would like to know what are some of the reasons people become physician scientists. All of your opinions and/or personal experiences are appreciated. Specifically what could I do with a PhD in say biochemistry and an MD?

I'm looking more for personal reasons and experiences

if possible it would be more useful to find one in real life, one whose career you want to model yours after and schedule an office visit or grab a meal (it really helped me). otherwise, the forum already contains plenty of personal stories in other threads.

Well why did you choose to become an MD/PhD student?

dude, use the search function. There are hundreds of anecdotes on here with very lengthy answers to that question.

Don't be too hard on the kid. The user is a high school gunner who hasn't learned to follow instructions. He/she'll learn in college or suffer the consequences.

Is that a complement or an insult? Why am I being shot down for asking peoples experiences?

because you're being lazy and annoying. SEARCH FUNCTION. STICKIES. we all pretty much do the dual degree for the same reasons that are laid out in plain sight in this subforum over and over and over.........
