Here is a copy of an email that I got back from the woman in charge of the postbac-pre health program at Rutgers-New Brunswick. Im not so sure about the validity of it, but thought i would share it nonetheless.

"We have an estimated success rate for students in our postbac. Program
moving onto Medical School. It is at 60%...the 40% comprises those who do
not move forward to Medical school, those who drop out of the program and
those who go onto other health professions.

The accelerated admission:
To be eligible for our accelerated admission program, you need to complete
the core requirements as a student in the program. If you are admitted
through the accelerated admission process, you can begin medical school in
the fall of the same year that you applied, thus eliminating the lag year."

Thanks for the info. Too bad Rutgers Newark doesn't have the same accelerated admissions program.

So that message is saying that Rutgers post-bac program has a 100% acceptance rate for students that havent dropped out or moved onto other professions? That makes me feel better.

Also, that accelerated admission program is totally unfair. I entered the the post-bac program in Jan. 05 and I had already taken bio and inorganic chem previously. The head of the program informed me that I do not qualify for the accelerated admission because one has to take ALL of the core courses while in the post-bac program. Otherwise, I would have qualified considering I am taking enough credits. I was really dissappointed. 😡

I think the phrase about people "who do not move forward to Medical school" implies that there are those who don't get in when they apply.
