hey....i am a fmg currently on an F1 visa in trhe U.S. and preparing to take d step 1 in late may.i have just gone thru d uworld qbank once with my cummulative ard 50%.i must say gthat i found these questions really hard.......really really hard and sometimes outright unrealistic.Now i dnt knw what to do nextr cos my confidence level has dropped....even though i trust God for an outstanding score......anyways i wanted to find out from fellow SDNers [esp those who have taken this exam].....i have heard the uworld is harder than the real thing.......so pls can some one tell me which of the qbanks [uworld,kaplan and usmlerx] is closest is question quality and level of difficulty.Second,wt do you think i should do now....shd i stick to my uworld and master it better? or move on to another qbank.thirdly whats the importance of First Aid?how relevant is it....Fourthly......how gud are the DEJA REVIEW SERIES......Lastly wt will u advice the most to get a 99 on this test?.....I am sori i knw its a lot of questions at once but......i feel this is the only place i can come to for pristine advice........pls help and thanx a lot.

Try an NBME to estimate how you'll do. None of the q banks are that similar to the real thing. Memorize first aid as much as possible, and worry about your 3 digit score, not the two digit. 238/99 and 265/99 are quite different scores.

Kaplan qbank & usmlerx are EASIER than the real thing.

UW is about the SAME level of difficulty as the real thing. IMO

i am very religious, but god has nothing to do with this. only you do. keep memorizing first aid, take ur nbme and copy and paste questions u have extreme trouble with to go over later. if u have time go over concepts with goljan and BRS physio. those 3 books (brs physio. goljan. first aid) will carry you to a 99 if you do all ur usmleworld problems 2x over and memorize everything. it is 100% up to you, this is coming from someone with a (subpar?) caribbean education who didnt even do well in....u'll be fine

I disagree that Kaplan Qbank is easier than real exam. UW is also harder compared to (my) real exam. But, this may be due to high variance of test questions and this may be true for my test.

Overall your score was "probably" generated by comparing you with previous exam takers on questions basis (ie, say your first question was taken by 5.000 people previously and 60% of them answered correctly etc). So, it's not important whether your test was hard or easy, what is important is how did you answer compared to others 😉

hey thanx to everyone for their contributions.......even though i am still torn on what approach to take specifically really.......m not usually like this but here i am.......u guys need to help a broda out.......my exam is may 22nd.....so wt will u do if u were in my shoes to really get a great score......just tell me.......esp for those wt experience
